A property business is built one relationship at a time. That is why the news about eXp’s plans for Switzerland and expansion in Mauritius has caught my attention. I see an invitation to meet thoughtful local professionals, exchange ideas and ask what a wider network could mean for the way we serve people.
In an eXp-issued release dated 9 October 2026, eXp Realty announced plans to launch in Switzerland and named Mehrdad Bonakdar as CEO of eXp Switzerland. Separately, Inman’s 9 October report from eXpcon describes an announcement of expanded operations in Mauritius.
These are international eXp developments. They should not be read as confirmation that eXp South Africa is opening branches in both countries. As at this article’s publication, I have not independently verified local onboarding dates or country-specific joining terms. Those details need confirmation with the relevant eXp country team.
A wider circle of professional relationships. When a client asks about a move beyond your own market, the useful question is: who understands that destination well? A growing network could make it easier to start that conversation with a local professional. Every introduction still needs permission, a clear handover and confirmation of any referral arrangements.
More ideas to bring back to everyday work. I would like to hear how agents in Mauritius and Switzerland qualify enquiries, explain a listing strategy and keep a client informed. Good questions travel well. Local expertise remains essential.
A chance to evaluate how you want to work. For an agent curious about eXp, expansion is a reason to investigate the model carefully. Ask how the local operation would support your actual working week. A headline alone cannot tell you whether a brokerage fits your business.
South African terms should not be assumed to apply in another country. A network does not guarantee referrals, clients, sales or income, and it does not give an agent permission to practise wherever they choose.
If you are a practising property agent in either market and would like to explore eXp with me, I would welcome a conversation about your questions. Tell me your country and current role, and what you would want clarified before considering a change. There is no need to make a decision on the strength of an announcement.
Start with my CAS career advisor, or visit my website. For a personal email reply, write to willem.schulte@expsouthafrica.co.za and say you would like one reply about exploring eXp in your country. That request will not enrol you in daily articles.
Call or WhatsApp: +27 71 146 4871. My regular enquiry hours are Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 10:00–11:00 SAST (UTC+2). A dedicated conversation is arranged only after we both confirm a time.
For me, the exciting part is the possibility of building useful relationships across borders while keeping the advice personal, local and honest.
